Martin High has a strong community ethos where each learner is part of a caring school community. What this means is that learners are able to access layers of support for both their academic and pastoral needs. We recognise that starting a new school can be both exciting and a little daunting but our transition programme ensures that learners feel confident in their school environment at the start of the academic year.
You have an exciting journey ahead of you with a wide range of opportunities available to help you grow and develop not just in the classroom, but also as part of our wider school community. If you approach every task with a positive attitude and determination, you will really enjoy being part of our Year 7 team.
AT OUR SCHOOL... we believe with A PROUDER WAY learners can achieve anything. Through promoting the values expressed here our young people not only succeed academically but also socially, spiritually and culturally.
We pride ourselves in knowing every individual; which helps to ensure that everyone is successful and happy during their time at MHS. Central to our beliefs as a school, every learner has the right to good quality teaching; an aspirational environment, educational opportunities and a close knit school community here a sense of ‘real’ belonging leads to everyone achieving. Here at MHS we want your five years with us to be challenging, exciting and filled with achievement. We look forward to meeting you all and welcoming you into our school.
We are constantly looking to review and improve our parent-teacher communication and collaboration at the Martin High School. We truly believe that we can make the difference to your child’s progress by working closely together with you as a parent or carer.
At the Martin High School we try to keep parents, pupils and anyone interested in the school well informed. We hope you find everything you need.
We are an 11-16 Academy, offering an exciting and inspiring curriculum to all our learners. Our school is a unique place, where relationships between staff and students lead to a lifelong love of learning. At KS4 our pupils will select one of our learning pathways that will enable pupils to achieve their best in a broad range of subjects.
These pathways have been designed to meet the needs of a range of pupils and to enable them to succeed in their post 16 education.
This pathway is for learners that have the intention to apply to a high end (Russell Group) university. All pupils on this pathway will study the Ebacc so they will need to select a language as part of their options. Most learners on this pathway select triple science over combined science.
This pathway offers a little more flexibility and will be suitable for the majority of pupils. They may still choose to study three sciences and a language in their options but they do not have to. Pupils on this pathway would still be able to progress on to suitable post 16 courses and university.
